James Dale Wilson was born in North Bend, Oregon, May 17, 1958. He graduated from Hillsboro High School (Oregon) in 1976, and received his Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Evangel College (Springfield, Missouri) in 1979. After teaching in Portland area schools, he was joined in marriage in June, 1982, to Ann Kathryn Hayakawa, of Honolulu, Hawaii. Their marriage has been blessed with three sons, Jacob, who lives in Portland, and Talkeetna, Alaska, Joshua, who lives in Chungli, Taiwan, and Jesse, currently attending Southwest Oregon Community College in Coos Bay. Following their marriage in Portland, the Wilsons moved to Springfield, Oregon, where he continued as a substitute teacher in Lane County schools. In 1988, James received the Master of Divinity from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri. While a seminary student, he worked as accessioner of The Concordia Historical Institute, and as announcer/engineer on KFUO radio in St. Louis. He was ordained into the Office of the Holy Ministry at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Hastings-On-Hudson, New York in August, 1988. Pastor Wilson also served churches in Remsen, Iowa; Eureka; and Deer Lodge-Anaconda, Montana; until returning home to serve as senior pastor of Christ Lutheran Church and School in Coos Bay in 2001. In 2005 Resurrection Lutheran Church was established in North Bend, and within the year, Pastor Wilson, having resigned from the Lutheran Church— Missouri Synod, was received by colloquy into the Evangelical Lutheran Synod, along with the Resurrection congregation.
Over the years, Pastor Wilson has had numerous articles and cartoons published in The Lutheran Sentinel, Logia—A Journal of Lutheran Theology, Gottesdeinst, and elsewhere. He also authored an edition of ‘Strength for the Day” which has been reprinted, through Concordia Publishing House. Pastor Wilson served as a regent of Concordia University in Portland for seven years. He also served as chaplain with the Civil Air Patrol for the Coos Bay area, during which time he held a commission in the U.S. Air Force Reserve. He presently serves as chairman of the ELS southern Oregon pastoral conference, and as secretary of ELS Circuit 12.
It is with great joy that Pastor Wilson joins Christ Lutheran Church as co-Pastor with his long-time friend Pastor Frank Fiedler, as he also continues serving Resurrection Lutheran Church in North Bend.

do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it—he will be blessed in what he does.
